Green creativity

Green creativity without green anywhere???  Days are now longer then nights and Spring is coming but not enough soon for us. So I bought some barley seeds and rich moist earth from the shop. I covered our dinner table with old newspapers and found some nice and decorative basket to use. All ready for a little green creativity moment...

Girls were happy to get their fingers in the earth and do some planting. Like that, Spring feels more close again:) We almost saw seeds turning green same time they were landing to the earth:) Now we just water and wait and wait and in couple of weeks our basket is hopefully going to be a green round mini field in our season table and we can decorate it with colorful self made Easter bunnies and baby chickens:)

Hometown playground

Finally I brought my family to the town where I have lived in my late teenage and early twenties. Pori is a small city in the west coast of Finland and most of my relatives are living there. I moved to Pori with my parents when I was teenager but I visited city very often and spend there most of my summers in my childhood. It's very interesting city, you can read more about it from here.

Our visit was really short, one and half days so we just checked out a bit of the city center and Kirjurinluoto, a small island middle of Kokemäenjoki (a river) There is a huge playground called Pelle Hermanni (It's free and you can park car just next to it. It's also just 5-10 minutes walk from the city:) Anna and Sara were really exited and it was hard to get them away from the park. Well, next time then again:)

Date-oat-coconut treats

Healthy, delicious treats for the whole family. We all love these ones pretty much. Coconut in the winter time is like a flash from the summer, dates are so sweet that you don't need to add any extra sugar. Oat is filling the stomach nicely so you need one, maybe too of these sweets and feel just happily treated. Perfect power snack for every day life:) These ones are totally gluten- and dairy-free:)

Date-oat-coconut treats

1.5 cup gluten free oats
2 cup almond flour
250 grams dates (in any form)
1/4 cup melted coconut oil (generous)
0.5 cup water

You need a blender/ mixer. Cut/crush first whole dates. After that add oats, crushed dates and most water to the mixer and mix. Then add rest of the ingredients and mix well. Make small balls from the dough. Date-oat-coconut treats are getting ready..not in a oven but in the fridge...keep them in the fridge over the night or one hour in a freezer. After that roll them in the coconut flake flour. Enjoy!

Store ready made treats in the fridge.
